The guidelines to the work

This essay is about Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quinonez. Bodega dreams is considered a Rites of passage,it shows the obstacles chino faces during his adult years. He thinks of himself as a smart person who knows the streets, but once he meets bodega he learns otherwise

This is a peice that I wrote while in the 9th grade. the freshman class created a book called Cracks In The Sidewalk, in which they each put a memory that they remember when they were little.

Poetry is an easy way of expressing how a person feels. it is used through out everyday life to show life, death, love, sadness and many others. Langston hughes poem "Life is fine" shows the pain he went through and the thought that roamed in his head

The poem i like the most is Langston Hughes "life is fine". I enjoy this poem because it shows a huge transformation from the speaker. He goes through a depression stage caused by a break up and thinks about suicide. The speaker later realizes how immature it would be to loose his life over a girl. Langston tries to help the readers understand that life isn't worth killing yourself over love.
What i like most about this poem is that he uses repetition. Its a literary technique which i personally think helps me understand the poem better. Langston repeats thoughts of the speaker which gives you a better understanding and makes his problems visual. I especially liked line 5, "I came up once and hollered! I came up twice and cried!". The poem relates to the real world and gives you a view on people and there emotions. It makes me realize how hard a breakup can be, it can take over a person's mind and make you feel useless that all you want to do is die.
